OUR MISSION

SEQAA was founded in 2017 to provide community and support for artists and arts workers living in the area of SEQ (South East Queens), and to advocate for quality arts programming in our community. This artist alliance centers SEQ as the area in which it builds community and engages the public with their work.

 

The Southeast Queens Artists Alliance is comprised of visual artists and writers. Our mission is to nurture local talent and to support quality cultural programming by artists who want to share their work with people in the community and beyond. At the same time, we want to participate in the ongoing discussions in the neighborhood around development and gentrification, and the role of art and culture in our community.
